AMVCA Cultural Night has always been about identity, and this year was no different. From water-inspired storytelling to heritage-driven fashion, the looks tilted heavily into culture, symbolism, and personal interpretation.
1. Bisola Aiyeola in KGZ Opulence Couture

Bisola Aiyeola‘s look, titled “Mmiri Ndu” (Water of Life), was inspired by a waterfall. The design translated that idea through flowing structure and movement, giving a fluid, sculptural finish. The creative direction was led by Kingsley Okoye Rex, with KGZ Opulence Couture executing the design.
2. Dede Ashiogwu in Lasosa

Dede described her look as a reflection of modern heritage and pride. Instead of leaning into Efik-inspired aesthetics, she chose a direction that shows storytelling and the creative spirit of African film. The result felt grounded yet contemporary. Lasosa executed the design perfectly.

3. Nnenna Mbonu in Prudential Atelier

Nnena went for a Yoruba Aso-Oke-inspired look, rooted in tradition but styled with a modern silhouette. Designed by Prudential Atelier, the structured fabric gave it cultural depth while still feeling clean and fashion-forward.
4. Osas Ighodaro in Amy Aghomi

Osas‘ look is a culturally-inspired statement with strong sculptural elements. Designed by Amy Aghomi, the styling leaned into drama with the hair and structure working together to create a bold, expressive finish.
5. Mercy Eke in Amy Aghomi

Mercy’s look interpreted cultural glamour through a soft, polished lens. The styling focused on femininity and refinement with dramatic elements that elevated the overall presentation without overwhelming it.
6. Jenni Frank in WhyTanny Couture

Her outfit was structured and confident with a strong silhouette that aligned with the evening’s cultural storytelling theme. The execution felt deliberate with a focus on clean tailoring and presence.
7. Liquorose in Prudential Atelier

Liquorose embraced a playful yet refined cultural interpretation. The look balanced softness with structure giving it a youthful but still intentional fashion direction.
8. Celyn Ukam in KGZ Opulence

Celyn’s look was bold and visually strong with clean construction and a clear focus on form. It carried presence without excessive detailing, allowing the silhouette to speak for itself.
9. Queen Mercy Atang in Boa Atelier

Queen Mercy Atang delivered an elegant cultural interpretation with a soft, graceful finish. The look leaned into simplicity, but the execution made it feel refined and memorable.

Her outfit reflected understated cultural elegance, focusing on minimalism and clean styling. It was quiet in approach but effective in presentation.
11. Tacha in Prudential Atelier

Tacha fully committed to a bold cultural concept, delivering a look that is expressive and attention-grabbing. The styling tilted into drama, making it one of the more striking appearances of the night.
12. Uche Jombo in Oga Okoro

Uche’s look blended cultural influence with a classic silhouette. It was polished, well-structured and executed with a sense of ease that made it feel timeless.
13. Sultana in StyleMeDiamonds

Sultana went for a soft cultural interpretation with delicate detailing. The look was subtle but carried enough presence to stand out in its simplicity.
14. Scarlet Gomez in Rosie Young Official

Scarlet’s outfit delivered a polished cultural aesthetic with a feminine edge. The styling was balanced, clean, and visually breathtaking.
15. Riyah Abdul in Yartel

Riyah embraced a bolder cultural direction, with a look that felt slightly experimental and expressive. It stood out for its individuality and willingness to push visual boundaries.
AMVCA Cultural Night 2026 proved once again that fashion is one of the strongest forms of storytelling. Each look reflected culture in a different way through fabric, silhouette and symbolism showing the depth and versatility of African fashion on a global stage.
