Nigerian actress Ini Dima-Okojie has announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband, Abasi Ene-Obong.
Ini who got married in May 2022 shared the news in an announcement accompanied by a personal caption reflecting on faith, gratitude, and the transition into motherhood. In the message, Ini described the experience as a profound shift describing it as one of those “moments when words feel too small for what God has done”.

Ini has been open about her experience with uterine fibroids since her diagnosis in 2020. She underwent surgery in November of that year after initially exploring non-surgical options. In July 2024, she revealed that the fibroids had returned. Rather than undergoing another operation, she opted for lifestyle-based management. By October 2024, follow-up scans indicated that the fibroids were reducing in size.
During this period, she also engaged in advocacy around women’s reproductive health, using her platform to raise awareness about fibroids and support others facing similar conditions, including offering to sponsor medical scans for women in need.
Fibroids affect a high percentage of women globally, with studies indicating a higher prevalence among Black women. The condition can present complications for fertility and pregnancy, making Ini’s announcement particularly significant within that context.
Known for her role in Blood Sisters and other Nollywood productions, Ini has maintained a relatively private personal life, occasionally sharing health updates and milestones with her audience.
The couple has not disclosed further details about the pregnancy at this time.
