Adut Akech is expanding her family. The 26-year-old South Sudanese-Australian supermodel has announced that she is expecting her second child with her partner, Samuel Elkhier.
Akech shared the news on Instagram through a seven-photo carousel featuring images from a minimalist maternity shoot. The portraits, set against a clean backdrop, focus on her growing baby bump and mark what will be her second experience with motherhood.
In her caption, she wrote:
“Baby #2 🤍 Kiki entering her big sister era 🥹✨. God’s divine timing is truly perfect. To be blessed once again with the sacred gift of life is the greatest honor of my life. My heart is so full. Thank You, God! 🙏🏾❤️.” She concluded the announcement with a Bible verse from Psalm 121:8: “The Lord will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.”
The baby on the way will join the couple’s daughter, Kiki, who was born in November 2024. Earlier this year, Akech publicly introduced her daughter in the Spring/Summer 2025 issue of POP Magazine. The cover featured Akech holding Kiki while posing for a portrait, with the simple caption, “Adut & Kiki.” Elkhier reshared the cover at the time, expressing pride and excitement about their family.
Akech first revealed her initial pregnancy in August 2024 during an interview with Vogue, at which point she was 30 weeks along. In that interview, she spoke about her desire to become a young mother, referencing her own upbringing and close relationship with her mother. She also described pregnancy as both rewarding and physically demanding, noting that the experience came with emotional and physical adjustments.
